Happy Earth Day!
The first Earth Day was on April 22, 1970. Americans wanted to become smarter about the environment and begin a new way to go forward for our planet.
So much great information on one of my favorite websites, Wonderopolis. You can scroll through the daily wonders or do a search for something in particular. This post is about Earth Day. You can even have it read to you if you choose "Listen".
My Friend Earth, by Patricia MacLachlan and illustrated by Francesca Sanna, is a beautiful book about our earth. And it has cut-outs and flappy things which you know I love.
I started working in my flower gardens and I looked for worms in the dirt, because I know how good they are for my plants I didn't see any and I wondered why which took me back to Wonderopolis. I did a search for worms and I learned so much. Click below to discover why I didn't find any worms.

Homes in the Wild: Where Baby Animals and Their Parents Live, written and illustrated by Lita Judge, is a nonfiction book. You are going to be amazed at what these animals build. As you know the reader doesn't always have to read a nonfiction from beginning to end. I chose some of my favorite pages to share.
Kate Messner is one of my favorite authors. She writes a nonfiction series. These are two of the titles in the series.
